CFM Executive Secretary cum Research Officer 

Responsible to:
Reports to the Executive Committee of CFM 

Objective:
Assist CFM speak relevantly on issues affecting the Christian churches in Malaysia

Duties: 

  1. To feed the Executive Committee of CFM with analysis of current national issues and offer possible responses.
  2. To identify, monitor and analyse political, religious and social tends in the country, especially when it impinges on religious freedom and civil liberty. 
  3. To liaise and coordinate research with Christian research centers and relevant bodies. 
  4. To help prepare summary reports when requested by the CFM Executive Committee. 
  5. To assist church leaders of the component bodies with educational materials for raising awareness of issues in congregations and through church media. 
  6. Taking instruction from the Executives of CFM in responding to urgent matters.

Requirements:

Personal

bulletCommitted Christian who is an active member of a church related to CFM
bulletShare in the goals and objectives of CFM as spelt out in the constitution
bulletFacilitation skills and team-working ability
bulletNational experience within the Christian community or corporate world. Previous management/operations position a plus.
bulletPossess good research skill especially in areas of politics, religion and culture.
bulletA vision and heart for church﷓based ecumenical co﷓operation and partnership.
bulletA commitment to listen to and understand grass roots opinions and concerns.
bulletAn ability to envision and communicate the vision of the mission, objectives and programs of the CFM.
bulletAn ability to project a strong CFM image.
bulletA supportive family that understands the demands of the position.

Qualifications

bulletTertiary degree minimum
bulletResearch and proven administrative skills
bulletAdequate language skills in English and Bahasa Malaysia
bulletCoordination and facilitation skills

Salary

This is a challenging position set in a Christian environment. We hope to appoint someone who has a desire to serve God through CFM. Salary commensurate with qualifications and experience. Negotiable.
