Launch of Minda Muda Research Study on Young Malaysians and National Unity

The Centre for Public Policy Studies (CPPS) of the Asian Strategy & Leadership Institute and the National Young Lawyers' Committee (NYLC) of the Bar Council will be launching its MINDA MUDA Research Study on Young Malaysians and National Unity.

The study, conducted between July and August 2007, covered 1000 young Malaysians aged between 18 and 35 in Peninsular Malaysia. It found that young Malaysians were generally optimistic about the state of national unity in the country; however there exist disturbing trends that must be urgently addressed to avoid further racial polarization.

Results also showed that there were significant differences in responses between urban and rural areas. The parameters of this study were based on the results of CPPS' qualitative study of national unity amongst young urban Malaysians in the Klang Valley, and the provisions of the Consensus Document arising from the 1st Young Malaysians' Roundtable Discussion held in April 2007. Both rural and urban areas were covered, with quota controls on gender, age, ethnic group, strata and region as representative of the total Malaysian population.

We would like to cordially invite you and a representative to attend the above launch and Press Conference. Details are as follows:
