Note of Protest from MCCBCHST

On Tuesday, 19 June 2007, the Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism organised a press conference and released a very strongly worded Note of Protest entitled "Unity Threatened by Continuing Infringements of Religious Freedom" dated June 2007.

The Protest Note annexes a Memorandum entitled "Respect the Right to Profess and Practice One's Religion" dated October 2005 which was submitted to the Government at that time, containing a detailed summary of current concerns and suggested reforms.

They also announced the candle light vigil to be held that night from 8-9 pm at Dataran Merdeka under the Malaysian flag.
