STATEMENT FROM MALAYAN CHRISTIAN SCHOOLS’ COUNCIL

Scaremongering Email on SPM Bible Knowledge

A scaremongering email was sent to many Church leaders recently that if the number of candidates taking Bible Knowledge for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia did not reach 3000 by the year 2008, the paper would be abolished.

The Malayan Christian Schools’ Council would like to state that the content of this email is NOT TRUE. There was no such intention of threat made. The Education Ministry official merely challenged the Christian community to try their best to raise the number of B. K. candidates to 3000 by the year 2010.

As such, the Malayan Christian Schools’ Council would like to appeal again to church leaders, pastors and parents to encourage their children to take up Bible Knowledge for the Bible Knowledge for the Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia.
