MCCBCHST AGM

The Malaysian Consultative Council of Buddhism, Christianity, Hinduism, Sikhism and Taoism (MCCBCHST) held its AGM on 5th July, at the Buddhist Vidhara in Brickfields.

The meeting was attended by delegates and representatives from state branches.

The President, Datuk Vaitilingam, in his opening address spoke of the on-going challenges facing the minority religious community in the country, and called on all to be vigilant and address issues forthrightly when the opportunity arises.

The AGM also endorsed the proposal to hold the 25th Anniversary Dinner on 6th August at the Chinese School Hall in Sentul. Over 1,200 people are expected to attend the event, representing the various religious communities. The PM has been invited and he is yet to confirm his attendance as guest of honour.
